Charity Tournament August 2025
On 14th August the GMWFL held a charity tournament in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and Rochdale Soup Kitchen and Food Store. Five teams competed, Bury Relics, Referees & Officers, Rochdale Striders, Rochdale Strollers, and Rochdale Wanderers.
The teams were over 60s, although there were many players well past that age.

Referees & Officers Winners Charity Tournament 14.08.25

Thanks to our two referees on the day, Matt Howells and Garry Pearce. Also, the Your Trust ladies who served up the food and managed the refreshments desk. A grand total of £800 was raised for the two charities, £400 each. Thanks to all who contributed.
This could very well become an annual event.

A great day for everyone, especially the charities who benefited.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed in any way whatsoever!
Big credit to all the GMWFL representatives, all the staff and volunteers, and people concerned with both charities, and involved with Your Trust Rochdale. Great day being involved, and raising money for both charities.
Great banter, football, and money raised. Referees and Officers winning the 🏆in 2025. Now, surely that will not happen again. Hopefully an annual event for deserving charities, and I’m sure a chance to play against those officials who apply the FA LOTG to the best of our abilities, and hopefully you may come out on top next time. Play and enjoy gentlemen, all for a good cause.
