Manchester Walking Football Over 65 October 2018
The Manchester Walking Football Over 65 October 2018 league session was played in warm bright sunny weather which is unusual for late October. Twenty five goals were scored and only four scoreless draws were recorded, the lowest since the league started.
In Division 1 Rochdale AFC Strollers increased their lead at the top of the table over Bury Relics from five points to nine points with three wins and a draw. Bury, looking stronger than they did previous fixtures, had two wins and two losses in this session.
Up from bottom place to third place are Chorley FC CT now on eight points, with two wins and two losses. Remaining in fourth place are Tameside Striders on seven points, one point behind Chorley. The Striders added four points to their total with a win, a draw and two losses.
Dropping down to bottom place on six points are AFC Blackpool Senior Seasiders. Gaining only two points in these October fixtures with two draws and two losses.
The Rochdale side, who already look uncatchable, also have a massive goal difference over their rivals, in effect giving them a ten point advantage. With only two points separating the bottom three, it seems more a case of who will be relegated in Division 1 rather than who will win it.
Mancom top Division 2, adding another nine points to their September total of ten points. Three 1-0 victories and a 1-0 defeat to second placed Man City in this session means they lead the division by six points. Man City had a much improved day grabbing six goals without reply in three wins and a draw and look the only side capable of catching Mancom.
Rochdale Striders who were in second spot in September, two points behind Mancon, could only add a single point to their total with a draw and three losses. Two points behind the Striders are Third Space Seniors, up from bottom place with a much improved performance. A win, two draws and a single loss, added five points to their two in September.
Propping up the table are Preston North End Senior Whites who had a win and three losses to leave them with a five point total, two behind Third Space.

Really enjoyed the day which I felt was well refereed and played in the right spirit. We may be bottom of the league but we’re just out doing what we love, playing football.
