Martin Dawson Trophy 2023
Twelve teams in two groups of six contested the seventh Martin Dawson Trophy played on 3rd September 2023. This was a reduction of two teams from last years event, probably due to the fact that there are far too many tournaments in the walking football calendar nowadays.
We had four non GMWFL members enter, previous entrants Blackburn Rovers WF, Grimsby Corinthians and Leeds Titans together with one new team Leeds Morley. Eight of the GMWFL teams made up the twelve contestants.

Kingsmaid are now the first team to record a hat trick of wins in the Martin Dawson Trophy. In a day of lovely weather there were some very strong teams on show.
Thanks to our referees today Denis Cudahy, Alan Graham, Steve Nethercott, Garry Pearce and Mike Willmore. Pie and peas were served prior to the presentation where Martin Dawson’s widow Maureen presented the trophies. A raffle was held in aid of the Stroke Association which raised £217. Thanks to all who contributed.
